MM3508A is a double protection IC for 1 to 4 serial cells on lithium-ion / lithium-polymer rechargable batteries. It detects battery voltage for each cell. A timer circuit is built in and the detection delay time can be set. The latch function allows the output to be held for a certain period of time at the time of detection and thus keeps the fuse disconnection time constant. The high voltage of cells can be reduced and then stopped to prevent battery from deteriorating thanks to the IC electric discharge function after the fuse is disconnected.
